DataMatrix barcode label font is widely used for marking small items. It is a good choice when faxing paper and documents with barcodes. The size of Data Matrix barcodes can be changed. The sign size for 2D barcodes may be as tiny as 2.5mm, which is the smallest. High density data encoding capabilities in a square or rectangular pattern are offered by DataMatrix. The DataMatrix 2D barcode font symbol comes in two basic patterns.
DataMatrix is a two-dimensional barcode that is tiny and stores a lot of information. A DataMatrix symbol may hold a maximum of 3,116 numbers from the whole 256-byte ASCII character set, along with 2,335 alphanumeric characters, which may contain a manufacturer ID, a unique serial number, and other information
Different products are marking with DataMatrix:
For industries that need components labelling, such military, automobiles, microelectronics, diagnostic supplies, and fresh fruits and vegetables, DataMatrix was created. The DataMatrix barcode has been chosen as the long-term preferred barcode by the international healthcare sector.
Software supports 4 different DataMatrix Encoding Modes
When making DataMatrix barcodes, software by default uses Base256 encoding mode. A switch to ASCII encoding may result in a smaller symbol if the decision is to just encode text or numbers and size is an issue.
- Base256 - Photos, expanded 8 - bit characters, numeric values, and 8-bit integers may all be encoded with the Base256 option.
- TEXT and C40 Modes are similar to each other with only difference of Uppercase and Lowercase data encoding. TEXT encodes numeric and lowercase characters while C40 encode numeric and uppercase characters.
- ASCII - With this mode DataMatrix can encode double digit numeric (00/11), ASCII values, Extended ASCII values, Lowercase, Uppercase characters etc.

Designing Procedure:
DRPU Software provides two ways to design barcode label either using Barcode Settings method or Barcode Designing View method. We are going to generate DataMatrix Barcode Font using Barcode Designing View process.
➨ Barcode Technologies and Font Type Selection : Click on barcode icon, to add it on card. Double click on inserted barcode to open barcode properties.
Choose your barcode technology (Linear or 2D) along with desired font type (DataMatrix Font). Set Barcode value, header and footer then proceed to next screen. You can also change encoding mode (mode of compaction to encode data) and preferred mode (determines smallest size of symbol) etc. as per need.
➨ Size Settings: To alter barcode X-dimension and various margins, go to size tab.
➨ Specify Card Shape and Dimension: Set card shape, card name and size etc. to fit your DataMatrix barcode inside it.
After designing your barcode, go to toolbar and click on print icon to open the print property window. Choose one of the printing modes: Pre Define Label Stock Mode or Manual Mode.
➨Printing using Manual Mode: In Manual print mode, you have to set all required fields yourself as per your requirement. To change page properties, click on Edit button.
➨ Barcode label printing: Thermal Printing using Zebra TLP2844 printer is the easiest way of printing barcode labels with better readability and efficiency. You can choose any printer as per choice.
➨ Printing using Pre Define Label Stock Mode: After completing your designing process, you can also choose Pre Define Label Stock mode of printing.
In Pre Define Label Stock mode, select label product and choose printer details. Then click on Print button.
➨ Barcode printing process: Sheet of DataMatrix Barcode Label font is shown that is printed using Laser printer.
➨ Barcode Label Scanning Process: DataMatrix barcode label font is now ready to use. It can be scan using any 2D scanning device.
